 SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 2000--F5 Networks, Inc.,
(Nasdaq:FFIV) the leading provider of Internet traffic and content
management (iTCM) products, announced today an OEM license
agreement that gives Dell access to all of F5's iTCM products.

Immediately, the two companies will begin work to bring F5's
award-winning high availability and intelligent load-balancing software,
BIG-IP(R), to market on a Dell PowerApp appliance server. This
appliance server product will be targeted for service providers,
dot-coms, and brick-to-click businesses, and other organizations
 building out their Internet infrastructure.

"Our PowerApp product strategy focuses on applications located at
the edge of the Internet infrastructure," said Michael Lambert, senior
vice president, Dell Enterprise Systems Group. "Traffic management
is one of those critical applications and cementing a partnership with
the market leader, F5 Networks, is a big win for Dell and our
customers. We've found that service providers and dot-coms want
integrated, turnkey systems that are easy to install, simple to manage,
and offer outstanding value. Integrating F5's BIG-IP software on our
PowerApp appliance servers will give customers a turnkey system
that can day and night, without a stop, distribute traffic for the most
 mission-critical e-commerce systems."

The Dell-branded traffic management solution targets enterprises and
service providers that are looking for a turnkey platform; one that
offers a single vendor solution for a tightly integrated,
 high-performance, flexible e-Business infrastructure. This
announcement underscores the universal applicability of F5's
technology, which brings a rich feature set that can be easily
integrated into the leading server and networking platforms in the
 market.

"F5 has quickly moved beyond the basics of load balancing to
comprehensive Internet traffic and content management," said Mark
Hoover, President of Acuitive, Inc. "Their strategy has been well
aligned with the technical and business dynamics associated with the
build out of e-Business infrastructures by service providers,
dot-coms, and enterprises. The announcement with Dell bodes well
for them to expand their market opportunity and become an even
 greater force in the industry."

Availability of operations, in addition to fast response time, is critical to
delivering the best web experience for customers. F5's BIG-IP
product provides high availability and intelligent traffic management for
a single Internet site or data center, and offers another level of
fault-tolerance by eliminating single points of failure on a network. By
intelligently distributing customer requests across a group of servers,
BIG-IP helps to ensure that an e-Business' content and applications
 are always available.

"The seamless integration of F5's high availability and intelligent traffic
management software with Dell's PowerApp appliance server
platform will bring significant value to the marketplace as customers
look to consolidate their network infrastructure to optimize
manageability without sacrificing performance," said Jeff Hussey,
Chairman, President and CEO at F5 Networks. "Our relationship with
Dell represents a key milestone in F5's recently announced product
strategy roadmap to partner with leading infrastructure providers to
work toward the goal of becoming the definitive standard for Internet
 traffic and content management."

EXTREME NETWORKS, F5 NETWORKS AND NETSCREEN TEAM TO DELIVER BEST-OF-BREED CONNECTIVITY PACKAGE FOR START-UP INTERNET COMPANIES Market Leaders Collaborate to Offer Start-Ups a Tested and Proven Integrated Solution for High-Performance, Reliable and Secure Web Connectivity
        MONDAY, APRIL 24, 2000 7:05 AM
 - PRNewswire

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Apr 24, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Extreme Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:EXTR), F5 Networks (Nasdaq:FFIV), and NetScreen Technologies Inc. announced today the availability of an integrated web connectivity package consisting of best-of-breed products from each of the companies. The solution, named the Best-of-Breed Bundle (BOBB), is available through select reseller partners.

BOBB is a complete package that enables fast, efficient and secure Web connectivity, designed to help start-ups quickly establish an Internet e-commerce presence. It includes Extreme Networks' award-winning Summit stackable switches, F5's BIG-IP(R) Controller for traffic management and high availability, NetScreen's NetScreen-100 security appliances, expert installation of the solution, and a full year of maintenance and support.

"We are dedicated to helping start-ups address the key issue of reliable web connectivity," said George Prodan, vice president of worldwide marketing for Extreme Networks. "This bundle was designed to address this complex challenge, and gives new or smaller companies a competitive advantage in today's Internet economy. Extreme Networks, F5 and NetScreen are proven market leaders, and the joint program allows companies to take advantage of best-of-breed technology immediately with a tested and proven connectivity solution."

"F5's strategy is to work with technology and reseller partners in order to develop the leading 'ShrinkRack' solutions that meet our customers' business requirements," said Tom Pettigrew, vice president of corporate development at F5 Networks. "The Best-of-Breed Bundle enables emerging companies to leverage the market's best networking products from F5, Extreme, and NetScreen, while reducing the complexity and cost involved. Ultimately, the unmatched flexibility of F5's technology makes us a better partner and a more viable solution for customers."

"Critical to the success of any e-business is the ability to provide secure, high-performance web-site connections," said David Flynn, marketing vice president at NetScreen, Santa Clara, California. "With the recent denial of service attacks that affected many e-businesses, NetScreen is committed to providing industry-leading security solutions that don't impede network performance. Working with leaders such as Extreme and F5, we are able to offer the high-quality web infrastructure our customers require."

In addition to the hardware included in the package, another key component is the expertise organizations receive from the experienced integration partners involved in the program.

"This level of vendor cooperation raises the bar for competing solutions," said Jason Gress, vice president of WebZone. "Rather than deploy a single-vendor configuration that is not easy to implement and maintain, this bundle brings together best-of-breed products that will result in a much more satisfied customer. BOBB means a faster, more secure and more reliable infrastructure than any other solution available on the market today."

BOBB Components BOBB consists of the following products for a reliable and comprehensive web connectivity solution:

-- Two Extreme Networks Summit48 stackable switches
-- Two F5 BIG-IP Controllers with failover connections
   -- Two NetScreen-100 security appliances
-- One NetScreen-5 security appliance, for secure remote management of the
      entire configuration
-- Installation by expert program partner
-- One full year of maintenance on all components, including 24x7
      emergency support

It is the only company to receive three NetWorld+Interop "Best of Show" awards (May 1997, May 1998 and September 1999). In addition, the company has received accolades from industry publications including 01 Reseaux (France), Data Communications magazine, Gateway magazine (Germany), InternetWeek, Network Computing, Network World, Red Herring, VARBusiness and more.
