IWEA - WORKSHOP SEEKING EMPLOYMENT IN THE WIND INDUSTRY—4TH NOV
Course Outline This morning workshop will give attendee's an insight into working in the Wind Industry. The speakers will talk through roles in the wind industry, employee profiles, particularly technical employees and entering the indus-try.
Speakers
Mark McCloat - Nordex
Mark has been in the wind industry working for Nordex for 8 years. Nordex in Ireland employ 18 service technicians plus backroom staff in finance, sales and administration totaling 25 staff. Nordex is growing every year with an average of 9 staff employed each year for the past two years. The wind farm now operates with 85 wind turbines (25 turbines of Phase I and Ia, and 60 of Phase II and IIa) giving it a nameplate capacity of 200.5MW. The facility is operated by Natural Power and is owned by Fred Olsen Renewables (FORL).
The third phase of expansion known as Crystal Rig III is currently in the planning stage. The proposed expansion will be situated on the northern side of Crystal Rig IIa and involve installation of 9 to 18 turbines, anemometer masts and laying of internal tracks and access roads.....The project uses Nordex N80 2.5MW wind turbines....
