Vancouver, British Columbia, May 2, 2011 - Global Hunter Corp. (TSX.V: BOB) (“Global Hunter” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce initial assay results from its previously announced surface sampling program. The results are encouraging with new gold showings as well as very positive copper oxide assays over widespread areas.
Highlights of the entire program
 9 mineralized shear and/or alteration zones sampled
 Total of 13.5 kilometers of strike length along know copper bearing shear and alteration zones tested with 205 rock chip samples
Results from the initial 95 samples collected from 5 shear zones sampled during this program are reported below:
Las Golindrina
Las Golondrinas prospect is located approximately 14 kilometers south-east of Las Posadas; it is characterized by a series of irregular north-south iron oxide-silica structures of 1.0 to 5.0 m thick that continue along strike for about 1,000 metres within a zone measuring over 2 kilometers long and 800 to 1,000 metres wide. The strike varies from 355 to 025˚ with vertical to sub-vertical dip. The copper mineralization is related to brittle shear zones that occur adjacent to and between the iron oxide-silica structures.
A total of 61 samples were collected from an area 450 metres long by 100 metres wide within Las Golindrinas zone.
 Soluble copper assays ranged from 0.01 to 5.26% soluble Cu (median 0.23 and average 0.41% Cu Sol)
 Gold assay values ranged from 0.00 to 1.10g/t Au (median of 0.07 and average of 0.16g/t Au)
 Total copper assays ranged from 0.04 to 5.53% total Cu (median 0.49 and average 0.70% Cu T)
Good grades of soluble copper (oxide) over a significantly large area have been identified, however they represent only about 50% of the total copper grade indicating a mixed oxide-sulphide zone. Numerous iron oxide structures have also been mapped but no iron assays have been received to date.
The Company is planning to re-assay samples for iron to determine if iron is present in significant quantities to represent another target. In addition detailed mapping and trenching in planned to determine the specific nature of the copper mineralization followed by diamond-drilling to test the continuity of copper and gold mineralization at depth and to determine the true widths and grades of the mineralized shears.
A complete list of assays are available in the Appendix hereto or at the Company’s website www.globalhunter.ca
Cerro Borracho
Cerro Borracho is a large alteration zone measuring over 2 kilometres long and over 1 kilometre wide trending southwest form the southern end of Las Golindrinas shears.
A total of 19 samples were collected from 2,300 metres along the Cerro Borracho area.
 Soluble copper assays ranged from 0.02 to 2.83% soluble Cu (median 0.81 and average 0.96% Cu Sol)
 Gold assay values ranged from 0.00 to 0.44g/t Au (median of 0.02 and average of 0.08g/t Au)
 Total copper assays ranged from 0.09 to 3.12% total Cu (median 0.97 and average 1.15% Cu T)
The results of the surface sampling demonstrate very significant grades of soluble copper (oxide) are present at Cerro Borracho over an area measuring 2,000 by 1,000 metres.
The Company is planning a program of detailed mapping and possibly trenching to better identify targets for drilling.
A complete list of assays are available in the Appendix hereto or at the Company’s website www.globalhunter.ca
El Manto
The El Manto showing is located on the extreme eastern edge of the property approximately 19 kilometres from Las Posadas.
Three samples from various surface showings returned:
 Soluble copper assays ranged from 0.52 to 0.98% soluble Cu (median 0.83 and average 0.78% Cu Sol)
 Gold assay values ranging from 0.20 to 0.47g/t Au (median of 0.29 and average of 0.32g/t Au)
 Total copper assays ranged from 0.69 to 1.24% total Cu (median 0.95 and average 0.96% Cu T)
Preliminary work indicates very significant soluble copper (oxide) and gold grades are present at El Manto but additional mapping is required to determine the significance of this area.
A complete list of assays are available in the Appendix hereto or at the Company’s website www.globalhunter.ca
Ron Rico
The Ron Rico showing is located in the north central portion of the property approximately ten kilometres west of the Manto shear.
A total of eight samples were collected from an area 200 metres long by 114 metres wide.
 Total copper assays ranged from 0.01 to 4.08% total Cu (median 0.65 and average 1.14% Cu T)
 Soluble copper assays ranged from 0.00 to 3.77% soluble Cu (median 0.31 and average 0.85% Cu Sol)
 Gold assay values ranged from 0.00 to 0.15g/t Au (median of 0.02 and average of 0.04g/t Au)
The results of the surface sampling demonstrate good grades of soluble copper (oxide) but represent approximately 50% of total copper suggesting a mixed or transition zone of copper mineralization. The mineralization has not yet been traced over significant area and additional mapping and prospecting is planned to determine if the area has the size potential to be of interest to the Company.
A complete list of assays are available in the Appendix hereto or at the Company’s website www.globalhunter.ca
Marinera
Four samples were collected from an area 700 metres long by 550 metres wide near the Marinera shear located 2.5 kilometres east of Ron Rico.
 Soluble copper assays ranged from 0.39 to 0.79% soluble Cu (median 0.62 and average 0.61% Cu Sol)
 Gold assay values ranged from 0.04 to 0.62g/t Au (median of 0.39 and average of 0.36g/t Au)
 Total copper assays ranged from 0.54 to 0.94% total Cu (median 0.73 and average 0.73% Cu T)
Preliminary work indicates significant soluble copper (oxide) and gold grades are present at Marinera however insufficient samples have been collected at this time. The Company is planning a program of mapping and prospecting to determine if the area has the size potential to be of interest.
A complete list of assays are available in the Appendix hereto or at the Company’s website www.globalhunter.ca
“The results have confirmed the presence of widespread copper mineralization and in some instances the presence of significant gold values,” said Rod Husband, Global Hunter’s President. “We intend to follow-up in order of priority and advance these targets to the drill stage. Our goal is to define additional copper oxide resources on the Corona de Cobre property to add to those already defined at the Las Posadas shear where we are working towards pre-feasibility stage.”
Sampling and Assay procedures
A total of 205 samples were collected by a geologist and three field assistants under the supervision of Joaquin Merino, P Geol (a Qualified Person). The samples are rock ship samples from outcrops and or small pits and small underground mines.
The samples were assayed in ALS lab, in La Serena. The samples were stored securely in shipping containers, and then shipped directly to the lab. All the samples were assayed for total copper (Cu T), soluble copper (Cu Sol.), gold (Au) and silver (Ag). The sample locations were captured by a GPS for plotting on base maps.
For detailed sample location and assay maps please visit www.golbalhunter.ca
Global Hunter’s principal project is the La Corona de Cobre property, located 70 km north of La Serena, Chile, along the Pan American Highway, within the coastal belt of the Andean Cordillera. In addition to La Corona de Cobre, the Company has its Rabbit South molybdenum project in south-central British Columbia, Canada.
