...According to news released by the Oxford team, they had started designing this vaccine as early as January 10, 2020. Adenovirus vaccines, in general, are well studied and have been used in 1000s of candidates in various countries in various age groups. Unlike the Moderna vaccine candidate for COVID-19, the Oxford vaccine reportedly generates a strong immune response in a single dose and hence may need lesser time to complete clinical trials.

The team working on this vaccine have previously worked on the Ebola Vaccine in 2014 and have also worked on a vaccine for another coronavirus disease - Middle Eastern Respiratory Syndrome (MERS).

Interestingly, the vaccine candidate from China that has entered into phase 2 clinical trials is also a type of non-replicating adenovirus vector vaccine.

The clinical trials
For the clinical trials of their vaccine, the Oxford University team started enrolling healthy volunteers in the age of 18-55 years in March and their primary outcome data is supposed to show up by May 2021.

Die Tests sollen nächste Woche starten. Aber vielleicht kommt die Zulassung schon früher?

... gestern sind im Vergleich zum Vortag mehr Aktien gehandelt. Was eigentlich ein gutes Zeichen ist, allerdings sind wohl viele auch raus. Was mich ankotzt sind diese "Drücker" mit größeren Chargen die den Kurs hier gerade beinflussen. Die sind seit Wochen immer Vormittags und Nachmittags am handeln. Da gehen täglich einige tausend rein und wieder raus aus dem Wert, ziemlich zur gleichen Zeit.
Gefährlich wird es dann wenn es negative News gibt. Dann wird in großen Chargen rausgehauen...
Erinnere mich noch an die Pressekonferenz vor einigen Wochen.
Bevor die durch war, weil mann wohl erhoffte, Biontech klöppelt einen Impfstoff in 4 Wochen zusammen, rauschte der Kurs in 5 Sekunden von 65 auf 40 runter ...

Eine Meldung reicht im positiven Sinn dann gehts schnell wieder nach oben. Und die Meldung wird kommen !

(Stimmen die Behörden vielleicht noch diese Woche zu kann es nochmal lustig werden).

BioNTech and Pfizer announce completion of dosing for first cohort of Phase 1/2 trial of COVID-19 vaccine candidates in Germany


MAINZ, Germany and NEW YORK, April 29, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- BioNTech SE (Nasdaq: BNTX, “BioNTech” or “the Company”) and Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE) have announced that the first cohort of BioNTech’s Phase 1/2 clinical trial has been dosed. Twelve study participants were dosed with vaccine candidate BNT162 in Germany since dosing began on April 23, 2020. The trial is the first clinical trial of a COVID-19 vaccine candidate in Germany. Pfizer and BioNTech plan to initiate trials for BNT162 in the United States upon regulatory approval, which is expected shortly.

The dose escalation portion of the Phase 1/2 trial will include approximately 200 healthy subjects between the ages of 18 to 55 and will target a dose range of 1 µg to 100 µg, aiming to determine the optimal dose for further studies as well as to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of the vaccine. The study will also assess the effects of repeated vaccination following a prime injection for the three vaccine candidates that contain uridine containing mRNA (uRNA) or nucleoside modified mRNA (modRNA). A fourth vaccine candidate, which contains self-amplifying mRNA (saRNA) will be evaluated after a single dose of vaccine. Subjects with a higher risk of severe COVID-19 disease will be included in the second part of the study.

BioNTech and Pfizer are jointly developing BNT162. During the clinical development stage, BioNTech will provide its partner’s clinical supply of the vaccine from its GMP-certified mRNA manufacturing facilities in Europe. BioNTech is collaborating with Fosun Pharma to develop BNT162 in China, where the companies expect to conduct trials.

einmal durch extrem hohe Umsätze begleitet, das heißt.....es standen nicht sehr viele Verkauforders im Weg.....ein gutes Zeichen, wenn man mit "wenigen Stücken" gleich 3 bis 4,-€ überwindet

Sieht man mal, wie viele an der Seitenlinie stehen, um einzusteigen. Wenn da jetzt wirklich eine größere Neuigkeit kommt, sagen wir mal, dass es schon positive Resonanzen gibt oder die Zulassung in den USA, dann heben wir wieder ab:-)
