Oslo, 30.3.2022 – Over the past five years, Heimdall Power has established itself as a world-leading supplier of technology for optimizing the power grid. Now a change of CEO will secure the path to global expansion and faster growth.
Heimdall Power was founded in 2016. The company delivers digital monitoring of the power grid via software and sensors. The solution gives grid companies insight into their own grid so that they can better utilize the capacity in the grid, take in more renewable production and implement the green shift cheaper, safer and faster. The company has had great success with its software solution, Heimdall Brain, which, among other things, retrieves data from a self-developed sensor, Heimdall Neuron, that is placed on power lines and sends out data in real time.
Since its inception, the company has been led by Brage W. Johansen.
– BRAGE HAS LED THE COMPANY SINCE 2016 AND DONE A SOLID JOB OF BUILDING A STRONG TEAM OF 35 EMPLOYEES, COMMERCIALIZED THE PRODUCT, AND VERIFIED THE COMPANY’S VALUE PROPOSITION THROUGH PILOT PROJECTS WITH A NUMBER OF GRID COMPANIES,
says chairman of the board Dag Honningsvåg and continues:
– WE ARE HEADING INTO A NEW PHASE WHERE WE SEE A NEED TO PROFESSIONALIZE THE COMPANY FURTHER, IN LINE WITH FASTER GROWTH. THIS GROWTH REQUIRES OTHER CHARACTERISTICS AND EXPERIENCES, AND IT IS THEREFORE NATURAL TO PASS ON THE MANAGERIAL POSITION.
Going forward, Heimdall Power is investing in further developing the software solution, at the same time as the company will take a larger step into the global market. To lead this journey, the company has hired Thomas H. Wikberg, who comes from a leading position in Kongsberg Digital.
– Thomas has a lot of relevant expertise from SaaS sales and from companies such as Opera, Telenor and Orkla. He also has management experience from exciting start-up companies. We are very much looking forward to getting him on board, says Honningsvåg.
– Heimdall Power is an exciting company that, with its technology and solutions, will help the grid companies with the forthcoming digitization of the power grid. The company meets the need for increased capacity utilization to include more renewable energy in the existing grid. Several international customers are already using Heimdall Power’s solutions and the feedback is positive. I see great opportunities together with the competent team to take Heimdall Power into the next growth phase, says Wikberg.
Thomas H. Wikberg will take the role of CEO of Heimdall Power from 1 April 2022.
