"Annette W Valentine: What is the cost of this test? I understand ColoGuard runs about $600.
Epi proColon: The cost of the test depends on which lab you get the test run at (LabCorp, ARUP, Sonic, Quest (as Colovantage), or a regional lab). And, what is the arrangement between the lab and your insurance. I suggest you call your insurance or doctor's office to understand your out-of-pocket costs. Somewhere between $0 and $330.
Theresa McLendon: I sure hope it gets approved for coverage by medicare and private ins.
Epi proColon: With any new test, coverage is not automatic. Medicare has a tier 1 code and a reimbursement. It does NOT have a National Coverage Decision therefore payment by Medicare and Medicare advantage is dependent on your specific carrier. I would suggest you call them. Private insurances are gaining momentum with coverage. It is more cost effective to screen that wait for patients to exhibit late stage disease. Either way - call your insurance.
Donna Brennan: Just do the Cologuard test, Medicare pays for it!
Epi proColon: 1/3 of the patients who pay a deposit and get the 'bucket' don't complete it. Epi proColon is for those people who simply can't deal with handling their own stool samples or all the steps. The important part is pick a colon cancer screening method that is right for you....and Get Tested!!!!
Lori Andrews: Does Medicaid
Epi proColon: Currently, there are 15 Medicaids who will pay. Call your specific Medicaid carrier to understand your coverage."
